County Administrator

The County Administrator is appointed by the Board of Supervisors. The primary responsibility is to assure that the policies adopted by the Board of Supervisors are carried out. The County Administrator supervises other divisions of our county’s government, prepares the budget, acquires and utilizes education on federal and state assistance for the county, and meets regularly with the Board of Supervisors. 

The Administrative staff is made up of the County Administrator, Administrative Assistant, Comptroller, Accounting, Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, Payroll, Purchasing, Human Resources, and Solid Waste. The County Administrator’s office generates the Board of Supervisors’ agenda, a detailed list of the items to be discussed in a Board Meeting. These meetings are open to the public. If there are items any citizen wishes to be brought up for discussion, contact this office at 662-624-3028.

Comptroller

The Accounting department is responsible for financial management, accounts payable, accounts receivable, investments, property and liability insurance, budget and budget control, debt retirement, fixed assets inventory, fleet management and the processing of county mail.  

This office works closely with the County Administrator and the Board of Supervisors.

Human Resources

Human Resource Department accepts applications for employment.  Coahoma County currently does not accept applications online.

The Human Resource department handles employee benefits. This office works closely with the County Administrator and the Board of Supervisors in all areas of personnel.

Purchasing

The Purchasing department is responsible for the procurement of commodities, equipment, and services at the lowest and best costs consistent with the item’s current economic conditions. The Purchasing department’s mission is to safeguard the standard of quality, continuity of service, and the County’s reputation for fairness and integrity. 

These are the purchasing guidelines:

$0-$5,000   Quotes not required
$5,001-$25,000At least two Competitive Quotes Required
$25,001 & AboveBid process including public advertising

For those items over $25,000, the contract requirements will be advertised in the local newspaper.
